Summary:
Rocket Reader is one of the more well known speed reading trainers. They offer a free 14 day trial download. The software itself looks unpolished and a little..well..odd. It is more like a students programming project rather than a professional software package. The reading area is cramped and hard to see. The documentation is short on information. It is mostly a practice tool in software form with no real training manual. The software does cover the basics and lets you chart your progress. Though it is simple and looks basic, they have put some time into it's development to give it some depth.

RocketReader Gold allows you to practice on Web sites of your choice, learning to speed-read while surfing the Net. RocketReader also contains a free SAT test preparation module. RocketReader trains the eyes and the brain to accurately read a single sentence or line of information with a single eye movement.

Exercises are not only supposed to improve reading speed but also memory, comprehension, and vocabulary. RocketReader Gold allows you to practice on Web sites while learning to speed-read while surfing the Net. They offer an eBook DVD but it is not a free bonus and is not as up to date as others. Rocket Reader software is meant to train the eye and the brain to accurately read a single sentence or line of information with a single eye movement.
